WPP Energy has worldwide distribution rights to the integrated Vorax thermal Gasification System, utilizing the industry-leading Vorax thermal Torches. This technology is commercially proven with Vorax thermal systems in operation for 16 years, converting waste into energy since 2004.
Vorax Thermal technology is in a classification of its own. With more than 10 years of R&D from a team of brilliant scientists, Vorax is a quantum leap over other waste processing systems. With temperatures of 1600°C, the Vorax system liquefies solids including inert materials such as glass, minerals and metals, thus completely destroying waste material effectively and safely, without combustion. The Vorax Thermal process works in negative atmosphere, does not combust garbage, but rather the high temperature and heat density disintegrates waste down to base elemental configurations, thus destroying toxic and hazardous materials including infectious pathological and organochlorine and other harmful materials. Moreover, the high temperature and oxygen deprived process does not allow the formation of dioxins or furans.Solid byproduct: The only solid byproduct of the Vorax is a ceramic vitrified slag (not ash) which is inert, safe, and environmentally friendly. This vitrified slag has many commercial applications including construction aggregate and paving material. The reduction in mass of organic waste in this process by volume is 100:1 up to 250:1, according to the category of waste processed. Gas effluents: The gases formed in the process have no dioxins or furans and are low volume because they are the result of the disintegration of the waste material and not from combustion, thus the effluent gas emissions meet environmental standards.
